In November, at the beginning of my round-the-world trip, I stopped in the San Francisco bay area for about two weeks. While there, I went to a sweet noise show and met up later with Alienslang, an experimental musician and one-half of the noise duo Nerfbau and co-director of Ratskin Records. We jammed together, me on my modified Barbietron II and Alienslang on homemade packing peanut stringed instruments. Later, we visited Radio Valencia, a community radio station, and Alienslang was interviewed by DJ Bunny Whiskers. I was really inspired by the station and wanted to learn more about its recent founding, so I emailed the co-founders John Hell and Chicken John. My interview with them was posted today to 127 Prince, an online journal named for the location of artist Gordon Matta-Clark’s experimental restaurant FOOD, and a place to examine ideas about art and social practice. So now that you know all of that, I encourage you to check out my article/interview on 127 Prince right here.
